Make-A-Wish 28th Holiday Campaign to Begin This Weekend

Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia strives to shine a light on brighten the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses and their Annual Light Up A Child’s Life Campaign is another step towards fulfilling their mission. Wish 99.7 and Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia team up, beginning this Friday the 16th to bring the community together while also raising money. On Friday, Wish 99.7 will be broadcasting live while attendees are encouraged to play games and spin the prize wheel.

Friday, the event will be at Fifth Avenue Place from 7am-9pm and then The Galleria in Mt. Lebanon from 10am-7pm. All events are free however donations are greatly appreciated and go toward making a child’s wish come true. The Pittsburgh events wrap up on the 23rd at from 7-9am and The Mall at Robinson from 10am-3pm.

Background:

Donations will go toward granting the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses. The steps of granting wishes go as follows: 1. Referral 2. Confirming medical eligibility 3. Assembling a volunteer wish team and 4. Creating joy. In its 33rd year, Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia has granted more than 17,000 wishes. And, impressively, the chapter takes pride in being the first ever to grant more than 700 wishes in a given year.

As the holiday spirit lingers in the air and takes over us all, think about stopping by some of the Pittsburgh events and supporting the holiday campaign.
